Love & Easter Buckets

Our Spring Break has started off great.  This break was much-needed, so we're going to try to enjoy every minute of it.  I hope to do some things around the house and do some fun things around town.  And rest!  And read!  And rest!

I recently mentioned that M and I would be making an Easter basket for a child through the HandsOn Bunny Aid project.  Well, later I got to thinking maybe could we could get a basket in the hands of more than one child.  So I contacted my fam a few weeks ago to see if they wanted to pool together and make it happen. Everyone was free (or cleared their schedule so they could be)...

...and Saturday we got together and made Easter buckets for 20 children - 10 boys and 10 girls.  We made it a potluck dinner, too -- enjoying some good food, cake, and music.

We took many pics, but most of mine didn't come out so good.  These are the few that were decent.

We made the buckets to include lots of fun things for a child age 3-6:
  • Coloring/activity books
  • Crayons
  • Flash cards
  • Playdough
  • Books
  • Activity packs
  • Spring stationary
  • Stickers
  • Toothbrushes
  • Candy
  • Eggs

With the finished products!
I think we did pretty good for the first time. :)
Ready for next year already!

Got a chance to see my little cousin, J, who recently graduated from college (my alma mater, 'Bama State)!

And his big brother, L, who makes me laugh more than anyone in the world!  We were born two weeks apart and were very close as children.  He can still make me laugh until my stomach hurts.

And then I didn't leave town without seeing my friend K's new baby.  He was SO precious and happy.  Made me miss the smell, touch, and innocence of a baby.  I barely remember my M being this small.

It was a GREAT weekend -- a perfect start to Spring Break.  M and her daddy went camping at the beach with my in-laws over the weekend, and I'll probably post some pics from that tomorrow or Wednesday.  My baby had a great time camping. :)

Hope you all had a great Monday.  Enjoy the rest of your week.
