Raleigh, Miami, Cousins, Swimming, Grandparents, Hiking, a Shower, Etc.

Hey, guys.  I haven't blogged in about a week (the last two posts were scheduled ahead of time), so I need to pop in before posts start piling up on me (even more).

In the last week, lots of things have been going on (in case the title of this post didn't make that clear).  Morgan returned from her trip to Raleigh with my in-laws visiting family.  She enjoyed spending time with her great great Auntie S and Uncle C.  She loves that they live right by a bus stop, so she could see buses pass by many times a day.  (Of course my in-laws let her ride, too.  She loved that.) She got a chance to meet some distant cousins of hers -- one about her same age and one a brand new baby.  And then she visited the children's museum there and had a good time.  She enjoyed Raleigh -- it was her third time visiting.

They returned last Friday.  We had her for 24 hours before we had to let her go again -- this time for a little grown-up time away.  The hubs, sister-in-law, and I went to Miami for a few days and had a great time (more on that later).

In between all of this, a few other things went down:
  • I went to my friend's bridal shower (so awesome -- more on this in a later post).
  • M went to my mom's for a few days and enjoyed it as always.  She also got to see some family she hasn't seen in a long time or has never met (a few pics below).
  • M spent a day swimming with cousins (pics below).
  • I took M hiking. This was quite an adventurous day.  The hike was great, but other things about the day just made it one of those days where I'm reminded that I have SO much more to learn about this parenting thing.  *sigh*  More on this in a later post.
Anyhoo, we had a great Fourth of July.  We got back in town in enough time to take M to see the big fireworks show in our area.  She loved it despite her reservations about fireworks (particularly loud noises).  We were far enough away in the city that they were not loud at all, but we saw every bright and exciting explosion.  It was great and she's still talking about them.

I'll leave you with some pics.  First of M's adventures the last week or two (days in Raleigh, swimming with cousins, and a few days at Mama's).  These are all pics they were thoughtful enough to text me because they know how much I love pics (and how much I miss my baby when I'm away from her).  Thanks SO much for sending these, y'all.

And then here are a few pics from my own cell phone from the last few days.

More on this in a later post.

I hope everyone is having a great week and that you enjoyed the holiday yesterday.  I'm not sure when I'll be able to post again (maybe tomorrow, maybe not -- so much to do around my house), but definitely no later than Monday. Hopefully I'll have my flow back by then.

If you don't hear from me before then, enjoy the weekend.  Be back soon!
