So anyhoo, still recapping our trip...let's talk South Beach.
My husband and sister-in-law were invited to the party of an old Bama classmate somewhere on South Beach, so we made an evening out of it. We met up with friends for dinner and drinks beforehand.
I managed to get only a few pics (if any of y'all are reading this, text me that group pic we took). It was obviously dark out, and I don't think anyone took a real camera out there -- so all of our pics are fuzzy cell phone pics.

Buds since elementary school.
W/tailgate buddy, C.
We didn't stay at the party very long, so we were back at the hotel a little earlier than expected. I can't say I was disappointed -- I'm such a wuss when it comes to the nightlife. Once the clock strikes midnight, my mind and body start shutting down. (I once fell asleep in the club, y'all -- and this was in my younger, college days.) This is one of the reasons I was never a party hardy...
Anyhoo, we had a good time. I've still got a few more trip posts, so I'll be back soon.
Love,
G
Edited to Add: I originally posted this blog during my lunch today, and 30 minutes or so later, the snow started coming down harder and faster. The was the view from my classroom:
What's funny about this is I mentioned earlier in my blog post my disappointment about not getting a delayed start to the school day. The complete opposite almost happened: there were official plans in place this afternoon to keep us at school LATER until they could get the roads salted. Folks started checking their kids out, kids were complaining about having to stay at school later, etc. Luckily the sun made an appearance (for the first time this WEEK), started melting the snow, and we were released around regular time.
What a day. For my northern friends, THIS is what snow does to us crazy folks down here. :-)
Edited to Add AGAIN: Just got an email saying there will be a two-hour delay to TOMORROW'S school day. Ha!
Look at your skinny arms. Seriously. Pumped about a late start tomorrow.
